Most people just want to know whether aligners would work for them and what it would take. That is what this appointment is for, with Dr. Jonathan Visscher at Chief Dental.
Dr. Visscher on what happens at the consultation.

We take photos and X-rays of your teeth first. They go up on the screen in the room.

Dr. Visscher talks you through what he sees, in normal language, before anyone recommends anything.
We offer two aligner systems, Invisalign and ClearCorrect. Part of the consultation is working out whether either one suits your teeth. If yours is not an aligner case, Dr. Visscher will tell you on the day.
You get the costs and your options written down to take home. Doing nothing is one of the options.
“The thing I hear the most afterwards is people wishing they’d asked years earlier.”

Most people won’t. They’re clear, and you take them out to eat and to brush. The first few days feel odd, then most people stop thinking about them.
It depends on how much has to move, so Dr. Visscher won’t give a number before he has looked. When it’s the front teeth, it’s usually a matter of months.
Yes, it is very common. A lot of the adults Dr. Visscher sees had braces, lost the retainer along the way, and the teeth have drifted since. Dr. Visscher plans the retainer at the same time as the treatment, so the goal is that you only do this once.
No. Nothing gets decided on the day unless you want it to be, and nobody phones afterwards chasing a decision.
They both studied dentistry at Loma Linda University in California and run Chief Dental together. They have been in practice for 20 years, straightening teeth for most of that time.
They were married in Squamish in 2008 and came back to raise their two daughters here, close to the trails.
